Description

• Creating Technical Drawings: They follow specifications and calculations to create detailed technical drawings, often using computer-aided design and drafting (CADD) systems.
• Preparing Sketches: Draftsmen prepare both rough sketches and detailed work, performing calculations for materials and weight limitations.
• Collaboration: They communicate with architects, engineers, and other professionals to incorporate knowledge gained into their drawings.
• Reviewing and Redrafting: Part of their job is to prepare, review, and redraft alongside the engineering team to ensure accuracy and compliance with the designs.
• Ensuring Compliance: They must ensure that final designs comply with building regulations and industry standards.
• Problem Identification: Identifying and communicating potential design problems to the rest of the team is also a crucial responsibility.
• Performing planning and furnishing work for corporate and residential clients
• Used 2D and 3D design software like AutoCAD and developed unique furnishing designs.
• Visited and inspected sites and calculated space for furniture. Co-ordinating with project managers for pre and post sales designs. Consulting customers, identifying their furniture needs, and planning accordingly.
• Referring floor plans, isometrics, and blueprints to analyses the furniture design Recommending selection of quality wood for furniture manufacturing. Working closely with the interior decorators and assisting them in improving overall looks of the space
• Having the knowledge about Microsoft Word, e-mail, charting and basic computer knowledge will be added advantage

Qualification
• Educational Requirements: to have at least an associate degree or certificate in drafting from a technical school or community college
• High school students interested in this career should focus on subjects like math, art, and computer classes.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software is essential. Drafters should also be skilled in geometric construction, perspective, and rendering techniques.
• Practical Experience: Having hands-on experience through internships, co-op programs, or entry-level positions is crucial.
