QA/QC Engineer – Steel Structure Works

Job Description

We are looking for an experienced QA/QC Engineer specialized in steel structure works to ensure all fabrication and erection activities comply with approved drawings, project specifications, and international standards.

Scope of Work / Responsibilities

Review shop drawings, method statements, ITPs, WPS, PQR

Inspect steel fabrication (cutting, welding, drilling, painting)

Ensure welding complies with AWS / ASME standards

Monitor fit-up, welding, and dimensional accuracy

Conduct and coordinate NDT tests (UT, RT, MT, PT)

Check surface preparation & painting (DFT, primer, finish coat)

Inspect bolting works (HSFG / normal bolts, torque testing)

Site inspection during erection & alignment

Verify materials (MTC, heat numbers, traceability)

Prepare inspection reports, NCRs, MIRs

Coordinate with consultants, clients, and project team

Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 quality procedures

Required Qualifications

Diploma / Bachelor in Mechanical or Civil Engineering

Minimum 3–7 years experience in steel structure works

Strong knowledge of:

Steel fabrication & erection

Welding & NDT

Painting & coating systems

Certifications preferred:

CSWIP / AWS / BGAS / NDT Level II

Familiar with ARAMCO / SABIC / NEOM / ADNOC standards (if GCC projects)
