Description

Position Overview:

The IT Site Support Specialist provides on-site IT support in a construction site. This role is
responsible for delivering timely, efficient, and professional IT support to site-based
employees and ensuring that all IT infrastructure and services operate smoothly and
securely. They are the single point of contact for all IT matters on-site, managing end-to-end
IT operations in coordination with the central IT team.
Key Responsibilities
 Serve as the primary IT point of contact for the construction site, providing Tier 1
support for hardware, software, and connectivity issues.
 Support end users with laptops, desktops, mobile devices, printers, and other IT
equipment.
 Install, configure, and maintain IT hardware and software specific to site operations
(e.g., AutoCAD, project scheduling tools, mobile apps).
 Manage all aspects of the site IT network, including installation and configuration of
network equipment (switches, routers, firewalls, Wi-Fi).
 Monitor network uptime, bandwidth usage, and performance.
 Troubleshoot local connectivity issues and liaise with internet service providers as
required.
 Ensure high uptime and availability of critical IT infrastructure and services.
 Track and manage IT consumables and hardware stock levels on-site (e.g., toner, cables,
adapters, devices).
 Coordinate and execute the installation and setup of new IT and networking
infrastructure.

 Maintain detailed documentation of the network layout, IP addressing, and device
configurations.
 Perform preventive maintenance on all IT equipment and infrastructure.
 Assist with onboarding/offboarding of site employees and contractors.
 Ensure compliance with corporate IT policies around security, data access, and device
usage.
 Maintain an accurate IT asset register for the site.
 Coordinate with central IT for remote support escalation, procurement, and project
implementations.
 Provide technical input during planning or relocation of site offices, equipment rooms,
and IT cabling layouts.
 Contribute to IT audits and compliance efforts related to site technology and data
integrity.
 Comply with and encourage the usage of the localized IT Ticketing system to respond to
and record all incidents and requests for support, in addition to ensuring that any
requests for support

Qualifications

 Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
 Minimum 2–4 years of IT support experience, ideally in field-based environments.
 Strong experience managing small-to-medium network infrastructures (LAN/WAN/Wi-
Fi) and troubleshooting connectivity issues.
 Experience in printer management and troubleshooting.
 Experience in CCTV and troubleshooting issues.
 Experience in supporting construction, engineering, or industrial environments is a
plus.
 Strong working knowledge of Windows OS, Microsoft 365, and mobile device
management.
 Familiarity with Active Directory, remote access tools, and ITSM/ticketing systems.
 Experience with hardware installations, cable management, and networking setup.
 Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a strong customer service focus.
 Willingness to travel or relocate temporarily to other project sites, if required.

Preferred Skills (Good to Have)

 Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Cisco CCNA, or Microsoft MCP.
 Familiarity with construction-related software or ruggedized IT environments.
 Working knowledge of safety protocols and site operational constraints.
