Basic Roles

The basic roles of Inspectors (all specialties) are to perform the inspection services to verify the quality of the work performed by the Contractors (and subcontractors) and material supplied by Vendors (and sub-vendors) is in compliance with the Contracts’ stipulated requirements throughout the course of the Project.


Inspectors employed by the CONTRACTOR to perform services shall have ten (10) years of relevant industrial experience, including six (6) years of experience in a given inspection specialty.

Must have at least a technical diploma.

Shall be fully conversant with applicable industry standards and specifications.

Must perform a variety of complex inspection functions with minimal supervision.

Electrical inspector must demonstrate a thorough working knowledge of the National Electric Code (NEC)/NFPA 70, or equivalent standards.

Must possess a working knowledge of electrical installations including materials, methods, specifications, and hazardous location identification for oil and gas or petrochemical industries.

Must be NFPA 70 Certified or hold an equivalent certification.

Should satisfy the requirements of a fully qualified Instrument Technician/Engineer, meeting the standards set by the Instrument Society of America or the Institute of Measurement Control.
