## Job Summary
The MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) Engineer is responsible for the design, coordination, and oversight of the mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems for various construction projects. The MEP Engineer works closely with the project team to ensure that the building's infrastructure is designed and installed efficiently, safely, and in compliance with relevant codes and regulations.

## Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the architectural and structural design teams to develop integrated MEP systems that meet the project requirements and constraints
- Perform load calculations, equipment sizing, and system layout for HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems
- Prepare detailed design drawings, specifications, and calculations for MEP systems
- Coordinate the work of MEP subcontractors and ensure that the installation of systems is in compliance with design documents and relevant codes
- Review shop drawings, product submittals, and requests for information (RFIs) from contractors
- Conduct site visits and inspections to monitor the progress and quality of MEP system installations
- Participate in project meetings and provide technical expertise to the project team
- Ensure that the MEP systems are designed and installed to optimize energy efficiency, sustainability, and life-cycle costs
- Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends, technologies, and code requirements

## Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil Engineering
- Professional Engineering (P.E.) license or the ability to obtain one
- 5+ years of experience as an MEP Engineer in the construction industry
- Proficient in the use of design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and BIM applications
- Strong technical knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with the project team
- Familiarity with relevant building codes, standards, and regulations (e.g., ASHRAE, NFPA, IBC)
