SAFETY OFFICER – AVAILABLE FOR EMPLOYMENT JUBAIL, SAUDI ARABIA

Position: Safety Officer / HSE Officer
Location: Jubail, Eastern Province, Saudi Arabia
Iqama Status: Transferable
Qualification: BS Civil Engineering
Certifications: NEBOSH IGC, IOSH Level 2, OSHA 30 Hours

I am a qualified and dedicated Safety Officer with a Civil Engineering background and practical experience in industrial and construction projects in Saudi Arabia and Pakistan. I am currently working as a Safety Officer at the AMIRAL Cogen Power Plant Project, Jubail, under Ghazal Esam Zahid Construction (GEZ), with Samsung C&T as the client.

I also have previous HSE experience at Pakarab Fertilizer Company (Pvt.) Ltd. under Jamisto Industrial Services, along with construction site experience at DHA Islamabad.

Professional Experience & Responsibilities

- Monitoring daily construction and industrial activities to ensure compliance with HSE policies, procedures and client requirements.
- Conducting regular site safety inspections and identifying unsafe acts, unsafe conditions and potential workplace hazards.
- Performing Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment (HIRA/HAZID) and ensuring effective implementation of control measures.
- Implementing and monitoring the Permit to Work (PTW) system for high-risk activities.
- Monitoring excavation activities, including access and egress, barricading, soil stability, shoring, sloping and benching.
- Supervising lifting operations, ensuring proper rigging arrangements, inspected lifting equipment and designated exclusion zones.
- Monitoring work-at-height activities, scaffolding, ladders, working platforms and fall protection systems.
- Ensuring safe reinforcement fixing, formwork, concrete pouring, precast foundation installation and other civil construction activities.
- Conducting daily Toolbox Talks (TBTs), safety inductions and workforce safety awareness sessions.
- Ensuring proper PPE compliance, housekeeping, material storage and safe access routes.
- Monitoring equipment and vehicle safety and ensuring proper coordination between operators, flagmen and work crews.
- Reporting incidents, near misses and unsafe conditions and following up on corrective and preventive actions.
- Maintaining daily HSE reports, inspection records, safety observations and other required documentation.
- Coordinating with construction supervisors, engineers, WPRs, lifting teams and HSE management.
- Exercising Stop Work Authority whenever unsafe conditions or imminent dangers are identified.
- Supporting emergency preparedness and ensuring compliance with site emergency response procedures.
