Job Description

A Pump Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of industrial pumps to ensure efficient and safe operation. The role involves troubleshooting mechanical issues, performing preventive and corrective maintenance, and ensuring that all work complies with safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

Install, maintain, and repair various types of industrial pumps.

Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on pumping systems.

Diagnose mechanical and operational faults in pumps and related equipment.

Disassemble and reassemble pumps such as centrifugal pumps and positive displacement pumps.

Replace worn or damaged components including seals, bearings, and impellers.

Read and interpret technical drawings and maintenance manuals.

Conduct performance tests after maintenance to ensure proper operation.

Follow company safety procedures and industry standards during all maintenance activities.

Prepare maintenance reports and document completed work.

Qualifications and Requirements

Diploma or technical certificate in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, or a related field.

2–4 years of experience in pump maintenance or rotating equipment.

Good knowledge of industrial pump systems and rotating machinery.

Ability to use mechanical tools, measuring instruments, and maintenance equipment.

Ability to read and understand technical drawings and manuals.

Required Skills

Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Strong mechanical aptitude.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Good communication and reporting skills.
