Job Title: Carpentry Foreman

Job Summary
The Carpentry Foreman is responsible for supervising all carpentry and joinery work in the factory or at project sites. The role ensures that works are executed as per approved shop drawings, specifications, and quality standards while meeting project timelines and safety requirements.
The foreman leads carpenters and helpers, monitors workmanship, controls material usage, and coordinates with other departments to ensure smooth workflow.

Key Responsibilities
1. Supervision & Workforce Management
• Supervise carpenters, joiners, and helpers.
• Assign daily tasks according to production or site schedule.
• Monitor productivity and ensure timely completion of work.
• Maintain discipline and ensure workforce efficiency.

2. Technical Execution
• Read and interpret shop drawings, cutting lists, and details.
• Ensure accurate measurements before fabrication or installation.
• Guide team in proper joinery techniques and installation methods.
• Coordinate with the supervisor for drawing clarifications.

3. Production & Installation Control
• Supervise fabrication of doors, wardrobes, cabinets, wall paneling, ceiling works, and other joinery items.
• Ensure proper alignment, leveling, and finishing during installation.
• Verify dimensions before dispatching to the site.

4. Quality Assurance
• Ensure proper joint finishing, sanding, edging, and alignment.
• Minimize rework by correcting issues during production.
• Ensure final output meets client and company standards.

5. Material Management
• Check availability of wood, MDF, plywood, veneer, laminate, and hardware.
• Control material wastage.
• Raise material requests when required.
• Ensure safe storage and handling of materials.

6. Safety & Compliance
• Enforce safety regulations and PPE usage.
• Ensure safe operation of machines and tools.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Prevent unsafe practices and accidents.
7. Reporting & Coordination
• Report daily progress to Production Supervisor.
• Highlight delays, manpower shortages, or material issues.
• Maintain a record of completed and pending works.

Required Skills & Technical Knowledge
• Strong knowledge of carpentry and joinery techniques.
• Ability to read and execute shop drawings accurately.
• Understanding of woodworking machines and hand tools.
• Knowledge of finishing materials and hardware fixing.
• Leadership and team management skills.
• Problem-solving ability on site or factory floor.

Experience & Qualifications
• 5–12 years of experience in carpentry/joinery works.
• Minimum 2–3 years of experience as Foreman or Senior Carpenter.
• Experience in interior fit-out or high-end projects preferred.
• Technical certification in carpentry/joinery is an advantage.
