Job Summary
The Senior Physical Security Technician is responsible for the installation, configuration, testing, and maintenance of
low-voltage physical security systems, with a primary focus on CCTV technologies. The role requires advanced
technical expertise, strong troubleshooting capabilities, and the ability to interpret engineering documentation to
ensure systems are implemented according to industry standards and project requirements.
Key Responsibilities
• Install, configure, test, and maintain low-voltage physical security systems including CCTV, access control,
intrusion detection, and perimeter security systems.
• Diagnose system faults, perform corrective maintenance, and ensure high availability and reliability of
security systems.
• Read and interpret architectural drawings, engineering schematics, and wiring diagrams to support accurate
installation and system integration.
• Conduct site surveys and prepare technical assessments for system upgrades or new installations.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations, industry standards, and client-specific requirements.
• Prepare technical documentation including reports, configuration records, as-built documentation, and
maintenance logs.
• Coordinate with project managers, contractors, consultants, and clients to ensure smooth project execution.
• Provide technical guidance, support, and mentoring to junior technicians.
• Communicate effectively in English (written and spoken) to document work and interact with stakeholders.
Qualifications & Experience
• Associate Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electronics, or a related
technical discipline.
• Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in installing, configuring, and maintaining physical security and
low-voltage systems.
• Strong hands-on expertise with CCTV systems, including analog and IP-based systems, VMS platforms, and
related network components.
• Proficiency in access control, intrusion detection, and integrated physical security solutions.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and engineering documentation.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently.
• Fluency in written and spoken English.
Preferred Qualifications
• Certifications such as:
o CompTIA Network+
o CCTV and VMS vendor certifications (Milestone, Genetec, Bosch, Honeywell, Axis, Avigilon)
o Low-voltage or structured cabling certifications
• Knowledge of relevant standards including NEC, NFPA, SIA, and structured cabling standards such as
TIA/EIA.
• Experience working in large-scale or mission-critical environments (airports, government facilities, industrial
sites, healthcare institutions).
• Familiarity with network configuration fundamentals (IP addressing, switches, NVRs, VLANs).
• Ability to lead field teams and support project planning and execution.
