Job Summary:
The CNC Laser Machine Operator is responsible for setting up, programming, and operating CNC laser cutting machines to cut sheet metal and other materials according to engineering drawings and specifications. The operator ensures accurate cutting, machine efficiency, and adherence to quality and safety standards.
Key Job Functions and Responsibilities:
Machine Operation & Setup
• Set up and operate CNC laser cutting machines using CYPCUT controller
• Load and unload materials (sheet metal, stainless steel, aluminum, etc.) onto the laser bed.
• Input and adjust cutting parameters such as speed, power, and gas pressure according to material type and thickness.
• Align and calibrate laser optics, nozzles, and cutting heads as required.
Programming & Technical Control
• Import, edit, or create part programs using the machine’s CNC controller or CAD/CAM software.
• Verify cutting paths, nesting layouts, and optimize material usage.
• Perform test runs to validate program accuracy before production.
Quality Control
• Inspect finished parts for accuracy using calipers, micrometers, and measuring gauges.
• Compare cut parts to technical drawings to ensure dimensional tolerances and surface quality.
• Identify and correct cutting defects such as burrs, dross, or incomplete cuts.
