Job Summary:
The Quality Control (QC) Coordinator in the fabrication field is responsible for overseeing the quality assurance processes during the fabrication of materials, components, or structures. This role involves ensuring that all products meet the required specifications, standards, and client expectations. The QC Coordinator will be responsible for managing and coordinating inspection activities, performing quality tests, documenting results, and working closely with the production team to maintain high standards of quality throughout the fabrication process.

Key Responsibilities:
Quality Assurance Management:

Coordinate and oversee daily QC activities within the fabrication facility to ensure products meet quality standards.
Develop and implement quality control plans, inspection procedures, and testing protocols.
Conduct inspections, audits, and quality assessments at various stages of the fabrication process, including incoming materials, in-process inspections, and final product checks.

Inspection & Testing:

Perform physical, visual, and dimensional inspections of fabricated products to verify compliance with engineering drawings, specifications, and industry standards.
Conduct non-destructive testing (NDT) and other specialized tests as required (e.g., weld testing, hardness testing).
Review and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Documentation & Reporting:

Maintain detailed records of inspections, tests, and quality control activities, including test results and corrective actions taken.
Prepare and submit regular quality reports to management, highlighting areas of concern, improvement, and trends.
Assist in creating and maintaining quality documentation, including checklists, inspection forms, and corrective action logs.
Problem Solving & Corrective Actions:

Identify quality issues, non-conformities, and deviations from specifications and initiate corrective actions.
Collaborate with engineering, production, and maintenance teams to investigate root causes and implement preventive measures.
Ensure that corrective actions are followed through and properly documented.
Collaboration & Communication:

Work closely with production teams to ensure smooth operations and minimize downtime due to quality issues.
Train and mentor production staff on quality control procedures, standards, and best practices.
Act as a liaison between management, production, and clients regarding quality-related concerns and improvements.

Compliance & Safety:

Ensure all quality control activities adhere to industry standards (e.g., ISO, ASME, AWS) and regulatory requirements.
Maintain a safe and organized work environment in line with safety protocols and standards.
Continuous Improvement:

Support continuous improvement initiatives by recommending and implementing process enhancements to improve product quality and operational efficiency.
Assist with the development and execution of quality improvement projects, lean manufacturing, and Six Sigma activities.

Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Control, Manufacturing, or a related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., Six Sigma, ASQ, NDT) are a plus.
Experience:
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a quality control role within the fabrication, manufacturing, or construction industry.
Experience with welding, metal fabrication, or structural fabrication processes is highly preferred.
Skills:
Strong knowledge of fabrication processes, including welding, machining, and assembly.
Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
Familiarity with quality control standards and techniques, such as ISO 9001, ASME, or AWS codes.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with cross-functional teams and clients.

Technical Skills:
Familiarity with quality management software and tools (e.g., ERP, QMS).
Proficiency with measurement instruments (e.g., calipers, micrometers, weld inspection tools).

Physical Requirements:
