PORT MACHINE SERVICE ENGINEER

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Perform routine maintenance and repair of port machinery and equipment, including cranes, gantry cranes, reach stackers, and conveyor systems.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with machinery and equipment to identify the root cause of problems.
• Conduct repairs and replacements of parts as needed to ensure equipment is functioning safely and efficiently.
• Install new machinery and equipment, as well as upgrade existing systems to improve efficiency and reliability.
• Collaborate with other team members to develop and implement maintenance schedules to prevent breakdowns and reduce downtime.
• Conduct regular inspections of machinery and equipment to identify potential issues before they become major problems.
• Develop and maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including repair histories and parts inventory.
• Stay up to date with manufacturer's instructions, technical bulletins, and industry best practices to ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards.
• Work in a fast-paced environment with frequent exposure to loud noises, confined spaces, and heights.
• Travel to different locations within the port to perform maintenance and repairs.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related field.
• At least 3-8 years of experience in a similar role in the maritime industry, preferably with experience in port machinery maintenance and repair.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical principles, as well as experience with industrial automation systems.
• Ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, and in areas with extreme temperatures or hazardous conditions.
• Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with team members and management.
• Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail, with the ability to maintain accurate records and documentation.
• Familiarity with industry regulations and standards, such as OSHA guidelines.
