Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our growing team. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the financial success of our construction projects by managing costs, analyzing risks, and providing valuable insights throughout the project lifecycle. You will be responsible for preparing detailed cost estimates, negotiating with contractors, and monitoring project budgets.
Key Responsibilities:
• Pre-construction:
o Review architectural drawings and specifications to identify and quantify materials, labor, and equipment requirements.
o Prepare bills of quantities (BOQs) for tendering purposes, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
o Analyze tenders and negotiate with contractors to secure the best possible value for money.
o Develop project budgets and cost plans based on BOQs and tender prices.
o Identify and assess potential cost risks and develop mitigation strategies.
• Construction:
o Monitor and control project expenditure against budgets, identifying and reporting any discrepancies.
o Manage variations to the contract, including evaluating and negotiating cost implications.
o Prepare interim and final valuations for contractor payments.
o Liaise with contractors, project managers, and other stakeholders to ensure cost-effective project delivery.
• Post-construction:
o Analyze project costs and identify areas for improvement in future projects.
o Prepare final accounts and manage claims and disputes resolution.
o Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in cost management.
Qualifications and Skills:
• Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field (construction management, engineering).
• Minimum of 10 years' experience working as a Quantity Surveyor in a reputable construction company.
• Proven track record of successfully managing project budgets and achieving cost savings.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Effective communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proficiency in cost estimating software (e.g., Causeway, CostX, Asta Power Project, ).
• Knowledge of construction contracts and procurement methods.
