A big Food Manufacturing company are looking for a Mechanical Technician...

Attend when required and effectively delegate any maintenance issues to be resolved on each shift to the right skills in the team.
A sense of urgency whilst never compromising safety or product food safety and quality.
Adhere to daily and weekly checks to ensure smooth operation of site.
Review & Develop a Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) schedule, ensure full preventative maintenance is carried out and lead the team to deliver effectively.
Manage the team to ensure machine availability, reactively managing dysfunctional machinery with the Shift management.
Optimize equipment according to standard procedure, enhancing performance and product quality
Ensure that designated buildings, plant and facilities are fit for purpose and to provide proactive support/solutions when required.
Develop clear accountability for maintenance material spend combined with a strategy to manage expenditure. Input and hold responsibility for maintenance budgets.
Manage the process of the introduction of new machinery, plant and equipment from drawing up the specification, to managing suppliers through to full installation.
Attend various meetings and action/communicate instructions.
Track Maintenance score card, develop, implement and manage key performance indicators (KPIs) and Produce written monthly report.
Perform root cause analysis and resolve problems with zero recurrence.
Identify business improvement opportunities within the organization.
Conduct risk assessments of processes and tasks in the department.
Manage contractors on site to ensure they meet legal and company requirements.
Ensure that the function operates in accordance with any health, safety and environmental policies and procedures.
Prepare the annual Maintenance budget and forecasts and all Capital Expenditure proposals.


People Management

Lead, motivate, coach, and develop a high-performing Maintenance team to operational success.
Monitor the completion of tasks and ensure good performance and record on appropriate systems.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure optimal performance.
Team player / Ability to get on well with others – e.g. training operators


Qualifications and Experience Levels:

Diploma Degree in Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering is preferred.
Extensive plant level experience with significant proven man management experience.
Technical capability and understanding.
Understanding of manufacturing excellence systems like 5S, KAIZEN, 5-M Analysis, Defects Elimination, 6 Big losses …
Experience of managing Profit and Loss (P&L) responsibilities for maintenance.
3 Years of Maintenance experience.
