Job Title : Procurement Engineer
Reports to : Commercial Director
I. Main Accountabilities :
1. Responsible for procuring engineering materials, equipment, and services for construction projects.
2. Use engineering knowledge and experience to negotiate with suppliers and vendors for the most advantageous terms.
3. Review project documents and approved documents from consultants to prepare procurement packages accordingly.
4. Ensure all procurement activities are in compliance with both company policy and construction industry regulations.
II. Level of responsibility :
1. Budget: Assists with managing the procurement budget specifically for construction projects.
2. Equipment: Utilizes procurement software, engineering tools, and other relevant systems.
3. Staff: Collaborates with other team members in the procurement and engineering departments.

IV. Detailed job description :
a. Subjects:
• • Engineering procurement, vendor management, technical negotiation, budgeting, and compliance.
b. Management:
• Oversee the purchasing of engineering materials, equipment, and services for construction projects, ensuring optimal quality and cost-efficiency.
• Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors.
• Use engineering expertise to evaluate vendor performance and negotiate contracts and prices.
• Ensure compliance with company policy, construction industry regulations, and engineering standards during the procurement process.
• Maintain engineering procurement records in accordance with the company’s regulations.



c. Reporting:
• Provide detailed procurement reports to the Commercial Director, including technical details about suppliers, prices, and the status of orders.
• Perform cost and scenario analysis, and benchmarking from an engineering perspective.
• Identify potential areas for improvement in the procurement process using engineering insights.
d. Special tasks:
• Stay updated with market trends and new products in the construction industry and suggest possible new suppliers to the Commercial Director.
VI. Job Holder Profile:
1. Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Civil, Structural, Mechanical, or a related field).
2. Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in procurement, specifically in the construction industry.
3. Technical knowledge: Proficient with procurement software, engineering tools, and other relevant systems.
4. Managerial skills: Good coordination and negotiation skills.
5. Other skills: Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
6. Languages: Fluent in English. Any additional language is a plus.
