We are searching for a talented and qualified estimation engineer who has proven experience with chemical fertilizer industrial and construction equipment repairs. The candidate has to collect and analyze data and information in order to estimate costs associated with manufacturing a product. Works proactively towards cost target objectives in collaboration with others.
Job holders in this role may take responsibility for a limited amount of components within the design and manufacturing process. More senior roles hold more responsibility and accountability and have a larger remit in terms of components and financial accountability.
Discipline Title : Estimation Engineer
Key Responsibilities
As the successful candidate you will be required to perform the following:
• Estimation of fabrication of Structural Steel, Steel Tanks, Pressure Vessels, Steel Pipe Spool, Skid Packages.
• Determine cost estimate targets during the design and development process, recommending cost effective solutions and develop detailed cost estimates, including materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs, using industry-standard methodologies
• Gather proposals, specifications and related documents and liaise with stakeholders in order to convert specifications to cost estimates for new and current products
• Utilize cost databases, historical data, and market analysis to determine accurate pricing for materials and services.
• Prepare and present comprehensive cost estimates to project stakeholders, highlighting assumptions, risks, and contingencies.
• Collaborate with procurement teams to obtain accurate pricing from suppliers and subcontractors.
• Establish cost estimates of production processes and tooling costs and review alternatives or put forward recommendations for improvement
• Assess cost effectiveness of products and track actual costs relative to budget and report status on a regular basis to ensure costs are in line with forecasts
• Monitor and review data and information to detect or assess problems
• Investigate and identify cost reduction opportunities through cost analysis review
• Contribute to cost monitoring and reporting systems and procedures and monitor trends
• Prepare cost and expenditure statements, reports and other necessary documentation at regular intervals to share with others in the business
• Support all activities in cost estimating and take a proactive approach towards improvements
• Conduct site visits and inspections to assess project conditions and identify potential challenges or opportunities.

Education & Experience Requirements

Educational Level : Candidate should have minimum Bachelor’s degree in
Mechanical engineering. Relevant business /commercial or
Manufacturing/engineering degree Preferred

Minimum Requirements :
 Some previous experience of cost estimating, ideally in an process chemical plant, manufacturing or engineering environment
 Good IT systems knowledge and skills including advanced Excel skills
 Ideally experienced in the use of spreadsheets, estimating pricing models and cost management tools
 Able to show evidence of adding value and cost optimization
 Knowledge and understanding of a variety of manufacturing/automotive processes and components and ability to evaluate and analyze associated costs
 Membership of an appropriate professional body would be advantageous
