We are looking for API plant inspectors for upcoming shutdown Certified API 653 inspectors.
Discipline Title : API Certified Welding Inspector
Key Responsibilities
As the successful candidate you will be required to perform the following:
• Communicate job expectations and performance requirements to welders / QC supervisors
• Analyze the engineering design packages for welding requirements & co-ordinate with designers, clients and other stakeholders to maximize efficiency, quality and customer satisfaction
• Initiate, coordinate and enforce production, safety, and quality systems, policies, and procedures
• Ensure that all welding meets the specified requirements before inspection is initiated
• Ensure that welded material and consumables meet specifications
• Provide welding technical support during construction and turnarounds through troubleshooting of welding related problems.
• Review welding procedures to ensure the correct welding parameters and testing are specified (ex. Voltage, amperage, heat input, metallographic examinations, and other testing as applicable).
• Utilize welding experience in order to improve the welding repair procedures proposed by facilities.
• Manage and specify requirements for welder procedure qualifications.
• Qualify new welding procedures to help with repairs if required.
• Implement best-in-class solutions pertaining to welding activities, as foreseen by international standards and other internal company standards.
• Propose ideas, or technological improvement, or maintenance strategies implementation, in order to support the company vision of continuous improvement throughout collaboration and people conversation

Education & Experience Requirements

Educational Level :
 Candidate must hold a Bachelor Degree in Welding, Metallurgical or Mechanical Engineering.

Minimum Requirements :
 Should have a minimum of 8 years’ experience in the Materials and welding engineering discipline with at least 5 years of on-site support within Fertilizer plant and/or refineries and/or Petrochemical plants
 Thorough knowledge of welding and metallurgical requirements for different materials including carbon and low alloy steels, stainless steels, duplex, etc is essential.
 Knowledge of non-destructive examination techniques and applicability for different type of weld repairs is must
 Experience of weld repairs on existing Tanks/equipment for different type of metallurgies (Low chrome alloy steels, stainless steels (Austenitic and ferritic), etc)
 Extensive experience in welding codes and standards, including ASME II, V, VIII, ASME IX, ASME B31.3, ASME B16.5, API 650, 653, etc is a requirement.
 Excellent knowledge of basic and advanced NDE techniques

Certificates :

 API 653 & AWS Certified Welding Supervisor or AWS Certified Welding Inspector or CSWIP -3.1 / CSWIP -3.2.2.
 ASNT Level II Certificates , RT, UT, PT, MPT & VT
 BGAS Level-2, NACE Coating Inspector, etc. is preferred
