Job Description
Averroës Academy is hiring an experienced and knowledgeable Cybersecurity Trainer to deliver practical cybersecurity training to students, graduates, and working professionals. The role involves developing and delivering training programs that help learners understand cybersecurity principles, identify digital threats, strengthen information security practices, and apply appropriate security measures in academic, professional, and business environments.
The position focuses on practical learning, technical skill development, and awareness of modern cybersecurity threats, tools, and techniques. The trainer will be responsible for preparing course materials, conducting in-person training sessions, guiding learners through practical exercises and security-related projects, assessing learner progress, and keeping training content aligned with current cybersecurity developments and industry practices.

Key Responsibilities
• Design and deliver structured cybersecurity training programs for students, graduates, and working professionals.
• Develop training modules covering cybersecurity fundamentals, network security, information security, ethical hacking, penetration testing, vulnerability assessment, and risk management.
• Train learners to identify, understand, and respond to common cyber threats, including phishing, malware, ransomware, social engineering, and data breaches.
• Demonstrate practical applications of cybersecurity tools, techniques, and security testing methodologies in controlled and authorized learning environments.
• Cover essential areas such as network security, operating system security, application security, cloud security, access control, and data protection.
• Introduce learners to ethical hacking principles, security assessments, incident detection, and basic incident response procedures.
• Train working professionals to improve organizational cybersecurity awareness, protect sensitive information, and follow secure digital practices.
• Prepare course outlines, presentations, training materials, laboratory exercises, case studies, practical assignments, and project-based learning activities.
• Conduct hands-on demonstrations and guide learners through cybersecurity labs, simulations, and industry-related projects.
• Assess learner performance, provide constructive feedback, and evaluate training outcomes.
• Update training materials in line with emerging cyber threats, security technologies, industry standards, and best practices.
• Adapt training methods to accommodate learners with different levels of technical knowledge and professional experience.
• Maintain training quality and follow the Academy’s course delivery standards and procedures.
Requirements
• Proven experience in cybersecurity training, professional instruction, or practical cybersecurity implementation.
• Strong knowledge of cybersecurity fundamentals, network security, information security, and common cyber threats.
• Hands-on experience with cybersecurity tools, vulnerability assessment, security testing, and ethical hacking methodologies.
• Understanding penetration testing, security monitoring, incident response, risk assessment, and security best practices.
• Familiarity with relevant tools and platforms such as Kali Linux, Wireshark, Nmap, Metasploit, or comparable cybersecurity technologies.
• Understanding of operating systems, computer networks, firewalls, access control, and basic cloud security concepts.
• Strong presentation, communication, facilitation, and classroom management skills.
• Ability to explain technical cybersecurity concepts clearly and deliver practical training to learners with different experience levels.
• Experience developing training materials, practical assignments, cybersecurity labs, case studies, and project-based learning activities.
• A bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, Network Security, or a related field is preferred.
• Relevant professional cybersecurity certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CEH (Certified Ethical Hacker), CISSP, CISA, or other recognized industry certifications are mandatory..
• Strong English communication skills are required; Arabic proficiency is an advantage.
• Availability to deliver in-person training sessions at the Academy’s campus in Riyadh is mandatory.
