Job Title: RTP Operator

Department: Production – RTP
Reports To: Production Supervisor / Production Manager
Location: RTP Plant

1. Job Purpose

To operate and monitor plastic pipe extrusion machines to ensure the safe and efficient production of high-quality plastic pipes in accordance with production plans, quality standards, and company procedures.

2. Key Responsibilities

Operate and monitor plastic pipe extrusion lines for PVC, CPVC, PPRC, or HDPE pipes.

Set up and adjust machine parameters, including temperature, pressure, speed, and other process settings, according to product specifications.

Monitor the extrusion process and ensure consistent pipe dimensions, wall thickness, and product quality.

Conduct routine in-process quality checks and report any deviations or defects to the supervisor and Quality Control team.

Identify and troubleshoot common extrusion process issues to minimize production downtime and material waste.

Ensure proper handling of raw materials and compliance with approved production procedures.

Perform routine machine inspections and coordinate with the maintenance team when technical issues arise.

Follow all safety requirements, operating procedures, and housekeeping standards.

Complete production records and report output, downtime, material consumption, and quality issues accurately.

Coordinate with the production team to meet daily production targets and delivery schedules.

3. Minimum Qualifications and Experience

Technical diploma or relevant vocational training in manufacturing, plastics processing, or a related field is preferred.

Mandatory: 3–5 years of hands-on experience in plastic pipe extrusion, specifically in at least one of the following materials:

PVC (Polyvinyl Chloride)

CPVC (Chlorinated Polyvinyl Chloride)

PPRC (Polypropylene Random Copolymer)

HDPE (High-Density Polyethylene)

Practical experience operating industrial plastic pipe extrusion lines is essential.

Knowledge of extrusion machine operation, process parameter adjustment, and basic product quality requirements.

Ability to identify common extrusion defects and take appropriate corrective action.

4. Required Skills and Competencies

Practical technical knowledge of plastic pipe extrusion processes.

Machine operation, monitoring, and basic troubleshooting skills.

Understanding of product specifications and quality control requirements.

Ability to follow production instructions and safety procedures.

Good teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Ability to work shifts when required by production needs.

5. Performance Expectations

Achieve assigned production targets while maintaining product quality.

Minimize production downtime, material waste, and product defects.

Comply with safety procedures and quality standards.

Maintain accurate production records and support continuous improvement initiatives.

6. Critical Recruitment Requirement

Candidates without relevant hands-on experience in plastic pipe extrusion for PVC, CPVC, PPRC, or HDPE pipes will not be considered. General plastics manufacturing experience without direct plastic pipe extrusion experience does not meet the mandatory requirement.
