Job Description: Electrical Engineer (LV & MV)
Position Title: Electrical Engineer (LV & MV / STP / Generators)
Department: Construction & Project Execution
Project Scope: Saudi Aramco Projects (Infrastructure, STP, Utilities & Facilities)
Location: Saudi Arabia
Experience Level: Minimum 10 Years Total Experience (Minimum 5+ Years on Saudi Aramco Projects)
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer with at least 10 years of hands-on experience in Low Voltage (LV) and Medium Voltage (MV) power systems, specifically for Saudi Aramco projects. The successful candidate will lead field installation, cable pulling/termination, switchgear erection, and generator setup—with a heavy focus on Sewage Treatment Plants (STP) and infrastructure facilities.
A critical requirement for this role is deep expertise in managing the technical procurement workflow—including Material Take-Offs (MTO), Material Requisitions (MR), and Technical Bid Evaluations (TBE)—working in direct coordination with PQCS (Project Quality Control System / QC Team) and the Procurement Department to secure Saudi Aramco Material Approval Requests (MAR).
Key Responsibilities
1. Material Procurement, MTO, TBE & Aramco Approvals
• Material Take-Offs (MTO): Perform precise MTOs and Bill of Quantities (BOQs) directly from Saudi Aramco Issued for Construction (IFC) drawings, Single Line Diagrams (SLDs), P&IDs, and plant layout drawings for LV/MV power systems and Sewage Treatment Plants (STP).
• Material Requisitions (MR): Prepare comprehensive MRs and technical packages for:
o MV & LV Switchgear: Switchgear assemblies, Ring Main Units (RMUs), Motor Control Centers (MCCs), and distribution panelboards.
o Power Generators: Prime/Standby Diesel Generator sets, Automatic Transfer Switches (ATS), synchronizing panels, and fuel control panels.
o Cabling & Raceways: MV & LV armored power cables, control/instrumentation cabling, cable trays, conduits, and underground duct banks.
o STP Electrical Equipment: Submersible pump drives, blowers, aeration tank electrical systems, and hazardous/explosion-proof area equipment (Class I, Div 1/2).
• Technical Bid Evaluations (TBE): Perform rigorous TBEs on vendor proposals to ensure compliance with Saudi Aramco Engineering Standards (SAES), Saudi Aramco Materials System Specifications (SAMSS), and SATIP guidelines.
2. Cross-Functional Coordination (PQCS & Procurement)
• Coordination with Procurement: Work closely with procurement teams to expedite Request for Quotation (RFQ) issuance, clarify technical vendor queries, evaluate technical/commercial deviations, and finalize vendor selections within project budget and timeline targets.
• Coordination with PQCS / QC Team: Partner with the Project Quality Control Manager / Supervisor (PQCS) to verify vendor approval status against Aramco’s Approved Vendor List (SAP 9COM), compile inspection level requirements (Form 175), resolve Technical Queries (TQ), and eliminate bottlenecks during Material Approval Request (MAR) submittals.
3. Site Work Execution & STP System Commissioning
• Direct and supervise site installation, testing, and commissioning of MV/LV electrical systems, power generators, transformer yards, and STP electrical infrastructure.
• Manage site teams and subcontractors for cable tray installation, cable pulling/routing, megger/hi-pot testing, glanding, and termination of MV & LV cables.
• Oversee site erection, alignment, busbar torque testing, and cold/hot commissioning of MV/LV Switchgear, MCCs, ATS panels, and Diesel Generators.
• Ensure all field execution strictly adheres to approved Shop Drawings, Aramco Typical Inspection Plans (SATIP), and Standard Drawings (SASD).
• Perform inter-discipline clash checks with civil, piping, mechanical, and instrumentation leads prior to field installation and equipment placement.
4. Site Quality & Safety Compliance
• Collaborate with Quality Control (QC) inspectors to issue Work Inspection Requests (WIR) for duct banks, cabling, switchgear installation, and grounding grids to achieve zero-defect sign-offs.
• Address and resolve Site Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and technical queries promptly.
• Enforce strict compliance with Saudi Aramco Safety Handbook guidelines, Job Safety Analyses (JSA), and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) protocols during electrical energization and testing activities.
Required Qualifications & Experience
• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
• Overall Experience: Minimum 10 years of total hands-on electrical engineering experience in execution and procurement support.
• Aramco Experience: Minimum 5 years of direct experience working on Saudi Aramco projects (EPC / General Contractor).
• Technical Standards: Deep technical expertise in Saudi Aramco Engineering Standards (SAES-P series), SAMSS (e.g., 16-SAMSS, 15-SAMSS), SATIP, SAIC, and international standards (NEC, IEC, IEEE).
• Specialized System Experience: Proven track record with STP facilities, Diesel Generators, MV/LV Switchgear, and MV/LV Power Cabling.
• Procurement Capabilities: Demonstrated success in preparing clear MTOs, MRs, and TBEs that pass Aramco review cycles efficiently.
• Professional Registration: Active membership with the Saudi Council of Engineers (SCE) is required.
• Certifications: Valid Aramco Work Permit Receiver (WPR) certification or prior exposure to SAPMT/PID operations is highly desirable.
• Languages: Professional fluency in spoken and written English. Arabic capability is an added advantag
