QC MECHANICAL INSPECTOR – VENDOR INSPECTION DIVISION (VID)
Position: QC Mechanical Inspector (VID / Source Inspection)
Location: Dammam, Eastern Province, Saudi Arabia
Industry: Third-Party Inspection (TPI) / Vendor Inspection

We are seeking an experienced QC Mechanical Inspector (VID) to execute vendor shop surveillance and source inspection assignments across manufacturing facilities. The candidate will represent client quality requirements, enforce Saudi Aramco VID mandates, and oversee vendor compliance from material verification through final release.


Key Responsibilities:

Represent third-party inspection interests at vendor facilities, leading or attending Pre-Inspection Meetings (PIM) to review purchase orders, Saudi Aramco inspection assignment packages, and approved Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs).

Execute shop-floor surveillance, witness, and mandatory hold-point inspections strictly in accordance with Saudi Aramco VID requirements, SA-175 forms, and project specifications.

Review and verify vendor fabrication documents prior to manufacturing, including Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS), Procedure Qualification Records (PQR), Welder Performance Qualifications (WPQ), and NDT procedures.

Conduct incoming raw material source inspections, validating Mill Test Certificates (MTCs), material traceability, heat numbers, and Positive Material Identification (PMI) results against applicable ASME/ASTM standards.

Witness vendor welding activities, assembly fits, dimensional checks, and Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) examinations—including visual evaluation, MT, PT, UT, and RT film interpretation.

Witness final acceptance testing, including Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), hydrostatic and pneumatic pressure testing, and surface preparation/coating inspections.

Issue Inspection Deviation Notices (IDNs) or Vendor Non-Conformance Reports (VNCRs) upon detecting non-compliant practices or dimensions, and verify implementation of corrective actions prior to manufacturing progression.

Perform comprehensive review and endorsement of the final Manufacturer Data Book (MDB) / vendor quality dossier.

Issue the official Inspection Release Note (IRN) to authorize packing and shipping of compliant materials/equipment, and submit factual VID inspection reports with supporting photographic records.


Candidate Requirements:

Aramco Approval: Valid Saudi Aramco VID approval with QM-07 at minimum (Mandatory).

Possession of additional mechanical QM commodities is a distinct advantage.

Education: Bachelor’s Degree or 3-Year Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical discipline.

Experience: Minimum 7+ years of total quality inspection experience, with substantial, dedicated source inspection / vendor shop inspection exposure on Saudi Aramco or major energy projects.


Certifications:


CSWIP 3.1 or AWS CWI (Certified Welding Inspector) is required.

ASNT / NDT Level II certifications (RT, UT, MT, PT) preferred.

Standards Familiarity: Practical knowledge of Saudi Aramco standards and applicable ASME/API manufacturing and testing codes.

Skills: Strong vendor management capability, objective technical reporting, and proficiency in vendor document audits.

Availability: Candidates currently residing in Saudi Arabia / Eastern Province with transferable status and immediate joining availability are preferred.
