Hiring: Senior Piping Design Engineer

📍 Location: Al Khobar, Saudi Arabia

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Piping Design Engineer to join our engineering team in Al Khobar. The successful candidate will be responsible for the design, development, and execution of piping systems for Oil & Gas, Refining, Petrochemical, and Industrial projects, ensuring compliance with international codes, standards, and client requirements.

Key Responsibilities
Develop and review piping layouts, routing studies, and detailed design drawings.
Perform piping design calculations, material selection, and equipment layout coordination.
Coordinate with Process, Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, Instrumentation, and other engineering disciplines.
Conduct site visits for data collection, field verification, constructability reviews, and troubleshooting.
Prepare and review piping design deliverables including:
Plot Plans
Piping General Arrangement (GA) Drawings
Isometric Drawings
Pipe Support Drawings
Material Take-Offs (MTOs)
Piping Specifications
Ensure designs comply with applicable international standards and codes including ASME, API, ASTM, and client specifications.
Review vendor drawings, technical submittals, and material documentation.
Support project cost estimation, engineering studies, and design optimization initiatives.
Participate in design reviews, HAZOPs, model reviews, and interdisciplinary coordination meetings.
Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior piping designers and engineers.
Support construction activities by resolving technical queries and reviewing field modifications.
Prepare technical reports, engineering documentation, and project deliverables within schedule requirements.
Requirements
Education
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related Engineering discipline.
Experience
Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in Piping Design within the Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Refining, or EPC industry.
Proven experience working on brownfield and greenfield projects.
Technical Skills
Strong knowledge of:
Piping Design and Layout
Pipe Stress Awareness
Equipment Layout
Material Selection
International Codes and Standards
Proficiency in engineering software such as:
AutoCAD
SmartPlant 3D (SP3D)
PDMS / E3D
Plant 3D
Navisworks
MS Office
Familiarity with Saudi Aramco standards is highly preferred.
Preferred Competencies
Excellent communication and coordination skills.
Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
Ability to manage multiple project priorities and meet deadlines.
Experience working in multidisciplinary EPC project environments.
Professional Engineering Certification or registration is an advantage.
