Before Work Begins Review the Permit: Read and understand the job scope, identified hazards, and safety controls outlined on the permit. Inspect the Site: Conduct a joint site inspection with the permit issuer to verify safety measures like isolations, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), and gas testing. Brief the Team: Lead a toolbox talk to explain the risks, required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and safe access routes to the crew. Display Documentation: Keep a physical copy of the approved work permit visibly posted or maintained at the active job site. During the Job Monitor Compliance: Remain present or actively oversee that workers follow all safety rules and wear correct PPE. Control Access: Restrict unauthorized entry into hazardous or barricaded work zones. Stop Unsafe Work: Immediately halt operations if safety conditions change, equipment fails, or unexpected hazards appear
