Job Description

FOCUS POWER COMPANY is looking for an experienced Electrical Panel Design & Estimation Engineer/Technician with strong practical knowledge in electrical panel board design, drafting, material selection, and cost estimation.

The ideal candidate should be able to develop electrical panel drawings from scratch, prepare complete Bills of Materials (BOM), and accurately calculate project costs and quotations.

Key Responsibilities
Design and prepare electrical panel board drawings from scratch based on project requirements and electrical specifications.
Prepare Single Line Diagrams (SLD), schematic/control drawings, wiring diagrams, layout drawings, and panel GA drawings.
Select suitable electrical components such as MCBs, MCCBs, contactors, relays, timers, meters, busbars, terminal blocks, control transformers, etc.
Prepare complete Bill of Materials (BOM) and material take-off.
Calculate material, labor, fabrication, testing, transportation, and other project costs.
Prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates and quotations.
Review customer RFQs, drawings, specifications, and BOQs to identify technical and commercial requirements.
Coordinate with suppliers to obtain material prices and technical information.
Compare supplier quotations and select suitable components based on technical and commercial requirements.
Prepare panel fabrication drawings and ensure drawings are practical for manufacturing and installation.
Revise drawings and quotations according to customer comments and project requirements.
Maintain proper documentation of drawings, BOMs, costing sheets, and quotations.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Strong experience in Electrical Panel Design and Cost Estimation.
Ability to create panel drawings from a blank page, not only modify existing drawings.
Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical / AutoCAD or similar electrical drafting software.
Good knowledge of LV electrical panels, MDB, SMDB, DB, MCC, ATS, capacitor panels, control panels, and related equipment.
Good understanding of electrical protection, cable sizing, busbar sizing, load calculations, and component selection.
Strong knowledge of electrical panel components and manufacturers.
Excellent knowledge of BOM preparation, material costing, labor costing, and quotation preparation.
Ability to read and understand electrical drawings, specifications, and BOQs.
Good communication and coordination skills.
Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience in electrical panel design and estimation.
Preferred Experience

Experience with brands such as Schneider Electric, ABB, Siemens, Eaton, LS, Legrand, and similar manufacturers will be an advantage.
