Description

The Facility Engineer is responsible for planning, supervising, and coordinating the operation, maintenance, and repair of building systems and facilities. The role ensures that all Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing (MEP), HVAC, Fire Protection, Civil, and Building Management Systems (BMS) are maintained in a safe, efficient, and cost-effective manner while meeting contractual obligations, statutory regulations, and client requirements.

Key Responsibilities
Supervise the daily operation and maintenance of all facility systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, civil works, elevators, generators, and water systems.
Plan, schedule, and monitor preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities.
Ensure all maintenance work is completed in accordance with contractual requirements, company standards, and manufacturer recommendations.
Supervise maintenance technicians, subcontractors, and service providers.
Review and approve maintenance reports, inspection records, and work completion certificates.
Monitor the performance of all building systems and recommend improvements to increase efficiency and reliability.
Conduct routine inspections and technical audits to identify maintenance requirements and safety risks.
Ensure compliance with local regulations, international standards, and client specifications.
Manage maintenance budgets, spare parts inventory, and procurement requirements.
Coordinate emergency maintenance activities and resolve technical issues promptly.
Review and analyse equipment performance, breakdown trends, and maintenance KPIs.
Ensure all statutory inspections, certifications, and testing are completed on time.
Coordinate with clients, consultants, and contractors regarding maintenance activities and project requirements.
Support project mobilisation, handover, snagging, and defect rectification activities.
Prepare technical reports, monthly performance reports, and maintenance plans.
Support energy management and sustainability initiatives.
Ensure accurate updating of work orders, asset records, and preventive maintenance schedules in the CAFM/CMMS system.
Perform any other duties assigned by the Facility Manager or Operations Manager.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related Engineering discipline.
Professional Engineering registration or certification is an advantage.
Facility Management certifications (FMP, CFM, IFMA, BIFM, or equivalent) are preferred.
Experience
Minimum 5–8 years of experience in Facility Management or Operations & Maintenance.
At least 2–3 years in a supervisory or engineering role.
Experience managing commercial buildings, hospitals, airports, residential compounds, industrial facilities, or government projects.
GCC/Saudi Arabia experience is preferred.
Technical Skills
Strong knowledge of MEP systems and building services.
Experience with HVAC systems, chillers, AHUs, FCUs, pumps, generators, electrical distribution, plumbing, and fire protection systems.
Knowledge of Building Management Systems (BMS), SCADA, and CAFM/CMMS software.
Ability to read engineering drawings, P&IDs, single-line diagrams, and technical specifications.
Knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance strategies.
Familiarity with NFPA, ASHRAE, IEC, Saudi Building Code (SBC), and other applicable standards.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Knowledge of AutoCAD is an advantage.

Investigate incidents and implement corrective actions where required.
Working Conditions
Site-based position with regular inspections of facilities.
May require shift support, emergency call-outs, and weekend work.
Work involves both office and field responsibilities.
