# Aluminum Cladding Fabricator Technician

**Steel Doors, ACM/ACP Panels and Wood-Look Aluminum Finishes**


**Location:** Riyadh, Saudi Arabia
**Department:** Production / Metal Works
**Reports to:** Production Supervisor / Operations Manager

## Job Summary

NDIC is looking for an experienced **Aluminum Cladding Fabricator Technician** capable of fabricating and installing aluminum cladding over steel doors, steel frames and metal structures.

The technician must be skilled in producing clean, premium-quality cladding with concealed fixings, folded edges, wood-look aluminum finishes and accurate openings for hinges, locks and accessories.

The role includes measuring, cutting, routing, folding, bonding and mechanically fixing ACM, ACP and solid aluminum panels onto fabricated steel doors and frames.

## Main Responsibilities

* Read and understand shop drawings, fabrication drawings and cutting lists.
* Take accurate measurements of steel doors, frames and metal structures before cladding.
* Cut ACM, ACP and solid aluminum sheets according to approved dimensions.
* Perform V-grooving, routing and folding of aluminum composite panels.
* Fabricate one-piece folded aluminum cassettes with clean and concealed edges.
* Cover front, back, top, bottom, hinge side and lock side of steel doors with aluminum cladding.
* Prepare accurate cut-outs for:

* Concealed hinges
* Locks and cylinders
* Handles
* Access-control devices
* Drop seals
* Door closers
* Electrical contacts
* Fix aluminum cladding onto steel using:

* Structural adhesive
* MS polymer or polyurethane adhesive
* VHB or spacer tape
* Concealed rivets
* Stainless-steel screws
* Aluminum Z-channels and concealed clips
* Ensure aluminum panels are properly isolated from steel to prevent galvanic corrosion.
* Install EPDM tape, isolation tape, primers and sealants where required.
* Maintain correct adhesive thickness and curing conditions.
* Form neat corners, returns, U-channels and edge closures.
* Install wood-look aluminum, powder-coated aluminum and decorative aluminum panels.
* Carry out dry fitting before permanent installation.
* Check door movement after cladding and ensure panels do not interfere with hinges or locks.
* Maintain uniform joints, alignment, flatness and panel direction.
* Protect finished surfaces from scratches, dents, adhesive stains and damage.
* Assist in preparing prototypes and mock-up samples for consultant approval.
* Coordinate with steel fabricators, welders, painters and installation teams.
* Perform site installation and rectification when required.
* Follow approved quality-control procedures and project specifications.
* Maintain tools and keep the fabrication area clean and organized.
* Follow all NDIC health, safety and PPE requirements.

## Required Technical Skills

The candidate must have practical experience in:

* ACM and ACP panel fabrication.
* Solid aluminum sheet fabrication.
* Aluminum panel routing and folding.
* Wood-grain aluminum cladding.
* Steel door cladding.
* Concealed-fixing systems.
* Structural adhesive application.
* VHB tape installation.
* Panel cassette fabrication.
* Aluminum edge capping.
* Corner finishing.
* CNC router or hand-router operation.
* Circular saw, panel saw and cutting-machine operation.
* Drilling, riveting and countersunk fixing.
* Hand tools and measuring instruments.
* Reading technical drawings.
* Checking diagonals, levels and tolerances.
* Preparing hinge and lock openings.
* Installation of aluminum Z-channels and support profiles.
* Exterior sealant and weatherproofing works.

## Preferred Experience

* Minimum **3–5 years of experience** in aluminum cladding fabrication.
* Previous experience in:

* Steel security doors
* Entrance doors
* Pivot doors
* Concealed-hinge doors
* Aluminum-clad doors
* Villas and luxury projects
* Government or high-end commercial projects
* Experience in Saudi Arabia or GCC projects is preferred.
* Experience with wood-look ACP, ACM or sublimated aluminum is highly preferred.
* Experience producing consultant-approved mock-ups is an advantage.

## Required Knowledge

The technician should understand:

* Difference between ACM, ACP and solid aluminum.
* V-groove depth and correct folding methods.
* Aluminum thermal expansion.
* Galvanic corrosion between aluminum and steel.
* Surface preparation before bonding.
* Adhesive and primer compatibility.
* Panel flatness and oil-canning prevention.
* Fire-rated and non-fire-rated panel requirements.
* Exterior-grade coatings and UV resistance.
* Correct panel grain direction.
* Minimum edge returns and corner allowances.
* Safe lifting and handling of finished doors.

## Quality Requirements

The technician must be able to achieve:

* No visible screws on the main door faces.
* No exposed raw panel edges.
* Uniform wood-grain direction.
* Straight and clean folded edges.
* Accurate hinge and lock openings.
* No panel bubbles, delamination or loose corners.
* No scratches, dents or adhesive stains.
* Uniform joints and shadow gaps.
* Proper panel alignment on front and rear faces.
* Smooth operation of the completed door.
* Correct sealing around exterior door edges.
* Clean and professional final appearance.

## Safety Responsibilities

* Wear required PPE at all times.
* Handle sharp aluminum edges safely.
* Use routers and cutting machines according to safety procedures.
* Follow adhesive and chemical handling instructions.
* Keep flammable materials away from welding and grinding areas.
* Use lifting equipment for heavy door panels.
* Report damaged tools and unsafe conditions immediately.
* Follow NDIC factory and site safety regulations.

## Education and Language

* Technical diploma or vocational training in aluminum, metal fabrication or related trade is preferred.
* Arabic or English communication is required.
* Ability to understand basic fabrication terminology and workshop instructions.
* Ability to read measurements in millimeters.
