Description

We are looking for a skilled and experienced Generator Mechanical Technician to join our team in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The ideal candidate will have solid hands-on experience in the mechanical maintenance, overhaul, and repair of diesel and gas-powered generator engines, working under the supervision of the site engineer.
Key Responsibilities:
Carry out hands-on mechanical maintenance, repair, and overhaul of diesel and gas-powered generator engines
Service and maintain engine components including pistons, cylinders, crankshafts, valves, and gaskets
Inspect, maintain, and repair cooling systems (radiators, thermostats, water pumps, hoses)
Service fuel systems including fuel pumps, injectors, filters, and fuel lines
Maintain lubrication systems — oil changes, oil pump servicing, and leak detection
Inspect and service turbochargers, air intake filters, and exhaust systems
Check and maintain coupling assemblies and engine-to-alternator alignment
Perform scheduled preventive maintenance as per manufacturer guidelines and maintenance plans
Respond to mechanical breakdowns and carry out corrective repairs in a timely manner
Follow all safety procedures and report work progress and findings to the supervising engineer
Maintain accurate service records and maintenance logs
Requirements:
Minimum 2 to 3 years of hands-on experience in generator mechanical maintenance and repair
Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Diesel Engine Technology, or a related technical field
Strong practical knowledge of diesel and gas engine systems, components, and maintenance procedures
Experience with generator engine brands such as Caterpillar, Cummins, Perkins, Volvo Penta, or MTU is a strong advantage
Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, engine manuals, and maintenance schedules
Good fault-finding and troubleshooting skills for mechanical issues
Ability to work independently, in shifts, and respond to emergency callouts when required
Physically fit and able to work in outdoor and industrial environments
