Description

JOB PURPOSE:
The Assistant Operations Manager supports the Operations Manager in planning, coordinating, and supervising operational activities across civil, mechanical, and electrical construction projects. The role assists in ensuring projects are executed efficiently, safely, and within budget, while maintaining quality standards. The Assistant Operations Manager works closely with site managers, foremen, and department teams to monitor progress, track resources, assist in risk management, and prepare operational reports. The position ensures smooth day-to-day operations, compliance with KSA regulations, and contributes to client satisfaction and the achievement of organizational objectives.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Assist the Operations Manager in planning, coordinating, and monitoring construction project operations.
Support in optimizing allocation of manpower, materials, and equipment to improve efficiency and minimize wastage.
Provide supervision support to site managers and foremen, including assisting with guidance, feedback, and technical coordination.
Participate in site inspections to monitor quality standards, safety compliance, and project specifications.
Assist in coordinating procurement schedules and ensuring availability of materials, equipment, and subcontractor services.
Support in monitoring budgets, expenditures, and cost-saving initiatives under Operations Manager’s direction.
Prepare draft operational reports, progress updates, and performance analytics for review by Operations Manager and senior management.
Assist in identifying risks, escalating issues, and supporting conflict resolution and corrective actions.
Promote teamwork and effective communication among site teams, departments, and clients.
Support process improvements, on-the-job training, and workforce development initiatives.

QUALIFICATION:
Bachelor’s degree in Civil / Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.

EXPERIENCE:
Minimum 5–8 years of progressive experience in construction operations or project coordination.
Prior experience in multi-disciplinary construction projects in KSA or GCC is an advantage.

COMPETENCIES:
Sound organizational and coordination skills.
Good understanding of construction operations, project planning, and resource allocation.
Financial awareness with exposure to budget monitoring and cost control.
Problem-solving mindset and ability to escalate issues appropriately.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills with site teams and clients.
Basic knowledge of safety, quality, and KSA compliance requirements.
Analytical ability to track performance data and prepare reports.
Ability to work collaboratively under senior management guidance.
Familiarity with project management software and reporting tools.
Attention to detail, with commitment to quality and timely delivery.
