Heavy Equipment Electrician

A Heavy Equipment Electrician diagnoses, repairs, and maintains the electrical systems of industrial machinery like cranes, excavators, loaders, and generators. Key responsibilities include repairing DC systems, alternators, starters, and engine ECMs, as well as performing preventive maintenance and troubleshooting to minimize downtime.

Key Responsibilities and Duties:
• Troubleshooting & Repair: Diagnose complex electrical failures using diagnostic tools ( Original Equipment Manufacturer , software like ET, Star Diagnosis) and repair electrical systems (wiring, sensors, lighting, motors).
• Maintenance: Perform routine preventive maintenance on heavy machinery components.
• Installation: Install, test, and maintain new electrical components, wiring, and control systems on industrial vehicles.
• Safety Compliance: Ensure all work adheres to safety regulations, including Lockout/Tagout procedures.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate service records and reports for all repairs and maintenance activities.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
• Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of DC electrical systems, 12V/24V systems, and schematics/blueprints.
• Experience: Generally requires several years of relevant experience with heavy equipment.
• Education/Certification: Technical certificate or degree in electrical systems or relevant field.
• Physical Ability: Capability to work in varied environments (shop or field) and handle physically demanding tasks.
