Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Spray Painter for a Fabrication Yard environment. The candidate will be responsible for surface preparation and application of protective coatings on structural steel, piping, and fabricated components in accordance with project specifications, industry standards, and safety requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform surface preparation activities such as cleaning, degreasing, grinding, and abrasive blasting prior to painting.

Apply primers, intermediate, and finish coats using airless spray equipment as per approved coating systems.

Ensure coating thickness, uniformity, and finish meet project and client specifications.

Read and follow painting procedures, method statements, and technical data sheets (TDS).

Inspect painted surfaces for defects and carry out touch-ups or rework as required.

Maintain spray painting equipment, tools, and work areas in good condition.

Comply strictly with HSE policies, including proper use of PPE and safe handling of paints and chemicals.

Coordinate with supervisors, QC inspectors, and fabrication teams to meet production schedules.

Follow quality control requirements and assist during inspections when required.

Requirements & Qualifications:

Minimum 3–5 years of experience as a Spray Painter in a fabrication yard or industrial environment.

Valid third-party certification such as NACE, SSPC, or equivalent (mandatory).

Good knowledge of industrial coating systems and surface preparation standards.

Experience using airless spray painting equipment.

Ability to understand drawings, coating specifications, and work instructions.

Physically fit to work in a fabrication yard environment.

Good understanding of safety practices related to painting and coating works.

Preferred Skills:

Experience in Oil & Gas or heavy fabrication projects.

Knowledge of coating inspection requirements (DFT, surface cleanliness standards).

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
