Description

The Rigger Level 1 is responsible for assisting in safe lifting, rigging, and material handling activities under the direct supervision of a qualified Rigger Level 2/3 or Lifting Supervisor. The role focuses on basic rigging tasks while strictly following approved lifting plans, safety procedures, and site regulations.

Duties & Responsibilities

Assist in lifting and rigging operations as per approved lifting plans

Attach, secure, and detach loads using proper rigging techniques

Select and use basic rigging equipment such as slings, shackles, hooks, and tag lines

Conduct visual inspection of rigging gear before and after use

Follow hand signals and instructions from the signalman or supervisor

Ensure load stability and maintain safe working distances

Guide loads safely using tag lines

Participate in toolbox talks, JSA, and permit-to-work activities

Comply with all HSE rules, procedures, and PPE requirements

Report unsafe conditions, incidents, or defective equipment immediately

Maintain good housekeeping in the work area

Qualifications & Skills

Valid Rigger Level 1 certification

Basic knowledge of lifting tools and safe working load (SWL)

Ability to understand lifting plans and safety instructions

Physically fit and able to work in industrial environments

Rigger Level 2 / Rigger Level 3

Lifting Supervisor / Foreman
