Finishing Carpenter – Job Description

A Finishing Carpenter is responsible for completing detailed woodwork and final construction tasks that give a building its finished appearance. This role focuses on precision, quality, and appearance rather than structural framing.

Responsibilities:

Install trim, molding, baseboards, doors, windows, and cabinets

Measure, cut, and fit materials accurately

Sand, plane, and finish wood surfaces

Read and follow blueprints and drawings

Repair or replace damaged woodwork

Ensure work meets quality and safety standards

Use hand tools and power tools safely and properly

Work with other trades to complete projects on time

Skills and Qualifications:

Experience in finishing or trim carpentry

Strong attention to detail

Ability to measure and cut accurately

Knowledge of woodworking tools and materials

Good hand-eye coordination

Ability to work independently or as part of a team

Work Environment:

Residential or commercial construction sites

May involve standing, lifting, bending, and working indoors or outdoors
