Description

Core Responsibilities:

Estimate load weight and determine the center of gravity.

Identify lift points and select appropriate rigging based on load characteristics.

Conduct thorough pre-use inspections of all rigging equipment and lift points.

Apply knowledge of advanced hitch configurations, load angle factors, and rigging capacities.

Understand load dynamics and associated hazards.

Collaborate effectively with crane operators and other team members, using standard communication protocols and hand signals.

Maintain accurate records of inspections and report any hazards to supervisors.
Technical Skills:

Proficiency in calculating tensions on slings and rigging hardware.

Strong understanding of rigging gear, including slings (wire rope, synthetic, chain), shackles, hooks, and below-the-hook lifting devices.

Knowledge of relevant ASME and OSHA standards and regulations.

Ability to read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and lift plans.

Physical & Soft Skills:

Good physical fitness and the ability to work at heights in various weather conditions.

Excellent spatial awareness and attention to detail.

Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

A proactive and unwavering commitment to safety.
