### **Job Title:** Heavy Equipment Mechanic (Diesel & Petrol)

### **Job Summary:**

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Heavy Equipment Mechanic with expertise in both diesel and petrol engines to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair various types of heavy machinery including bulldozers, excavators, loaders, cranes, and generators. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience and a strong understanding of hydraulic systems, transmissions, and engine diagnostics.

### **Key Responsibilities:**

* Inspect, diagnose, and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues on heavy equipment.
* Perform routine maintenance on diesel and petrol-powered equipment.
* Troubleshoot and repair engines, transmissions, brakes, fuel systems, cooling systems, and exhaust systems.
* Test repaired equipment to ensure proper performance and compliance with safety standards.
* Maintain accurate service records, job logs, and inventory of spare parts.
* Read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
* Operate diagnostic tools and computerized testing equipment.
* Ensure all work is performed in accordance with safety regulations and company policies.
* Provide emergency repair services as needed, including fieldwork at job sites.

### **Qualifications:**

* High school diploma or technical certification in mechanical engineering or a related field.
* Minimum of 3–5 years of experience as a heavy equipment mechanic (diesel & petrol).
* In-depth knowledge of diesel and petrol engines, hydraulics, and electronics.
* Ability to use diagnostic software and repair tools.
* Good understanding of preventive maintenance schedules.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Valid driver’s license (Heavy Equipment license preferred).

### **Preferred Skills:**

* Familiarity with brands like Caterpillar, Komatsu, JCB, Volvo, etc.
* Welding and fabrication experience is a plus.
* Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

### **Work Conditions:**

* Workshop and field environments.
* May require lifting heavy parts and working in outdoor conditions.
* Shift work and overtime may be required based on job demands.
