Department: Operations / Kitchen

Reports To: Head Chef / Kitchen Manager

Job Summary:

Responsible for overseeing all aspects of daily kitchen operations, including managing the kitchen team, ensuring food quality and safety, maintaining a clean and organized work environment, and contributing to the achievement of kitchen goals.

Key Responsibilities:


Team Management:

Supervise kitchen staff, including cooks, assistant cooks, and dishwashers.
Assign tasks and establish work schedules to ensure adequate coverage and smooth workflow.
Train and orient new employees and provide ongoing support.
Evaluate employee performance and provide constructive feedback.
Maintain a positive and collaborative work environment.
Enforce company policies and procedures related to employees.

Food Quality Assurance:
Ensure food is prepared and presented according to established standards and recipes.
Monitor the quality of ingredients used and ensure proper storage.
Inspect dishes before serving to ensure appearance, taste, and quality.
Handle customer complaints related to food efficiently and professionally.
Food Safety and Hygiene:
Implement and adhere to all health and safety regulations.
Ensure cleanliness and organization of all kitchen areas, equipment, and utensils.
Monitor the cleaning and sanitizing of equipment and tools regularly.
Report any safety hazards or issues.
Inventory and Resource Management:
Assist in managing the inventory of food supplies and materials.
Ensure proper storage of materials and minimize waste.
Assist in ordering supplies and ingredients as needed.
Monitor the use of equipment and report any malfunctions.
Operational Contribution:
Assist in menu planning and recipe development (if required).
Ensure the efficient flow of work in the kitchen.
Suggest improvements to operations to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
Collaborate with other departments (e.g., service) to ensure an excellent customer experience.

Other Duties:
Perform any other duties as assigned by the Head Chef or Kitchen Manager.
Attend meetings and training sessions as required.

Good knowledge of various cooking techniques and food ingredients.

Strong understanding of food health and safety regulations.

Ability to lead and motivate a team.

Excellent organizational and communication skills.

Ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.

Problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

good in English and Arabic

Ability to operate standard kitchen equipment safely and effectively.

Ability to work effectively in a team.

Ability to remain calm in stressful situations.
