Safety Officer (HSE) - Aramco Approved

Position Summary:
The Safety Officer (HSE) is responsible for overseeing the implementation and enforcement of health, safety, and environmental standards on projects or facilities in compliance with Saudi Aramco requirements, international safety regulations, and organizational policies. The role ensures a safe working environment, minimizes risks, and promotes a safety-first culture.

Key Responsibilities:

Compliance with Standards:

Ensure adherence to Saudi Aramco safety, health, and environmental standards.
Review project-specific HSE plans to align with Aramco-approved safety management systems.
Conduct regular inspections and audits to verify compliance with all regulatory and contractual requirements.

Risk Assessment:

Identify potential hazards through Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) and risk assessments.
Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies for identified hazards.
Monitor and maintain records of site risks and corrective actions.

Safety Training & Awareness:

Deliver Aramco-approved HSE training and toolbox talks to employees.
Promote awareness of safety practices, emergency procedures, and HSE policies among workers and contractors.

Incident Management:

Investigate workplace incidents, near-misses, and unsafe conditions.
Prepare detailed incident reports and recommend corrective and preventive measures.
Ensure timely reporting and compliance with Aramco’s incident management protocols.

Documentation & Reporting:

Maintain accurate records of safety
inspections, audits, and training sessions.
Submit daily, weekly, and monthly HSE reports to project managers and Aramco representatives.
Ensure that all safety documentation is prepared in line with Aramco standards.

Emergency Preparedness:

Develop and implement emergency response plans (ERP) as per Aramco guidelines.
Coordinate emergency drills, including fire, spill, and evacuation exercises.
Liaise with Aramco emergency response teams when necessary.

Collaboration:

Work closely with project managers, engineers, and contractors to maintain a safe work environment.
Act as the primary point of contact for Aramco HSE representatives during inspections and audits.
Advise on HSE best practices to improve overall safety performance.

Qualifications:

Education:

Bachelor's degree in occupational health & safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
NEBOSH IGC or equivalent certification is preferred.

Experience:

Minimum of 5 years of experience in HSE roles, with at least 2 years in the oil and gas sector.
Experience working with Saudi Aramco projects is highly desirable.

Certifications:

Aramco-approved Safety Officer certification.
OSHA, IOSH, or equivalent qualifications.
First Aid and Fire Safety certifications are advantageous.

Skills:

Proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
Strong knowledge of Aramco safety guidelines, industry standards, and ISO standards (ISO 45001, ISO 14001).
Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.

Work Environment:

Field-based position on Saudi Aramco project sites.
Requires adherence to strict safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
May involve long hours, rotational shifts, and working in challenging environments
