The Gym Equipment Installation Technician is responsible for the safe and efficient installation, maintenance, and repair of fitness equipment, including treadmills, ellipticals, strength machines, and other related equipment. This role requires strong mechanical aptitude, problem-solving skills, and a commitment to providing excellent customer service.

Responsibilities:

Installation:

• Assemble and install fitness equipment according to manufacturer specifications and company guidelines.
• Ensure proper wiring and connections for electronic components.
• Perform pre-installation site surveys to assess equipment placement and identify potential challenges.
• Level and calibrate equipment for optimal performance.
• Clean and prepare equipment for customer use after installation.

Maintenance:

• Conduct routine maintenance checks on fitness equipment, including lubrication, cleaning, and adjustments.
• Identify and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues.
• Replace worn or damaged parts.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities.
• Repair:
• Diagnose and repair malfunctioning fitness equipment.
• Order necessary parts and ensure timely delivery.
• Perform repairs efficiently and effectively, minimizing downtime.
• Provide technical support to customers regarding equipment operation and maintenance.

Customer Service:

• Interact professionally and courteously with customers.
• Explain equipment operation and maintenance procedures to customers.
• Address customer concerns and inquiries promptly and effectively.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.

Safety:

• Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies.
• Use proper lifting techniques and safety equipment.
• Ensure that all installations are completed safely and securely.
• Report any safety hazards or incidents immediately.


Other Duties:

• Assist with equipment delivery and unloading as needed.
• Maintain company vehicle and tools in good working condition.
• Stay up-to-date on new products and technologies in the fitness industry.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or training in mechanics or electronics preferred.
• Proven experience in fitness equipment installation, maintenance, and repair.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of electrical systems and wiring.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to lift and move heavy equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with specific fitness equipment brands.
• Certifications related to fitness equipment maintenance or repair.
