Description

A Jewelry Inventory Accountant contributes to ensuring the accuracy and organization of financial operations related to precious and semi-precious jewelry inventory.

Their role involves monitoring, calculating, and recording all inventory-related transactions, from purchasing and receiving to sales and stocktaking, while ensuring compliance with accounting regulations and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Inventory Management:
Monitor inventory levels daily and identify reorder points.
Conduct periodic and surprise stock counts to verify that physical quantities match records.
Verify the quality of incoming jewelry and ensure it meets specified standards.
Accurately record all inventory transactions in the accounting system.
Calculate the cost of goods sold and evaluate inventory on a regular basis.
Prepare financial reports related to inventory, including income statements and cash flow statements.
Review and Analysis:
Analyze financial data related to inventory to identify any discrepancies or errors.
Compare actual performance to key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify areas for improvement.
Provide recommendations to improve inventory processes and increase efficiency.
Ensure compliance with tax and legal regulations related to the jewelry trade.
Maintain accurate and clear records of all transactions.
