Description

The Manual Lathe Machinist will produce or repair precision parts using manual equipment. Responsible for operating and maintaining manual machining equipment to produce high-quality parts according to specifications. As well as the ability to read and interpret engineering drawings. Basic machine shop tools required. (Calipers, MeasureTape, and Wrenches)


Roles and responsibilities

-Operate manual lathes, and other machining equipment to produce parts as per specifications.
-Read and interpret engineering drawings.
-Set up and adjust machine tools and equipment for production runs.
-Inspect completed parts to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications.
-Creation of fixtures and gages to support Production or Assembly operations.
-Rework of non-conforming parts.
-Perform polishing on critical surface finishing.
-Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on manual Machine equipment.
-Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
-Collaborate with engineers and other team members to optimize machining processes.
-Keep accurate records of production runs, including measurements and adjustments made.
-Adhere to all company policies and procedures.

Qualifications and Skills

-Proficient in operating manual lathes, grinders, drilling and other machining equipment.
-Strong understanding of machining principles, techniques, and tools.
-Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
-Ability to stand for extended periods.
-Ability to work in a noisy environment with exposure to machining equipment.
-Excellent attention to detail and precision.
-Strong problem-solving skills.
-Good communication and teamwork skills.
-Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
-Knowledge of safety protocols and practices in a machining environment.
