Chiller Technician (HVAC)



Job Summary:
We are seeking experienced Chiller Technicians to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair commercial and industrial chillers. The successful candidate will have extensive knowledge of chiller systems and HVAC equipment, ensuring optimal performance and energy efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:
Install, maintain, and repair commercial and industrial chiller systems, including air-cooled and water-cooled chillers.
Diagnose and troubleshoot issues related to refrigerant, compressors, motors, pumps, and other mechanical and electrical components.
Perform preventive maintenance on chillers, including cleaning condenser coils, checking refrigerant levels, and ensuring the proper function of all components.
Monitor system operations, identify inefficiencies, and recommend energy-saving improvements.
Calibrate control systems and ensure chillers are operating within manufacturer specifications.
Conduct performance tests and ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and operational standards.
Document all maintenance and repairs, and report to supervisors with updates and recommendations.
Respond to emergency repair calls and work with other technicians on large-scale chiller projects.
Requirements:
Proven experience as an HVAC Technician with a strong focus on chiller systems.
Knowledge of HVAC systems, including refrigeration, air conditioning, and cooling technologies.
Familiarity with air-cooled, water-cooled, and absorption chiller systems.
Ability to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical components of chiller systems.
Proficiency in reading technical drawings and blueprints.
Understanding of safety protocols related to refrigerants and hazardous materials.
Valid HVAC certification or relevant technical qualification.
Ability to handle physical work and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications:
3-5 years of hands-on experience with large-scale chillers.
Expertise with brands like Carrier, Trane, York, and Daikin.
Familiarity with Building Management Systems (BMS) for monitoring chiller performance.
Additional certifications in chiller maintenance or energy efficiency are a plus.
