Samirock Company is seeking a skilled Mechanical Technician specializing in heavy equipment to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and inspection of heavy machinery used in mining and earth-moving operations. This role is essential in ensuring the optimal performance and safety of our equipment.

Key Responsibilities:


• Maintenance and Repair:
1. Perform regular maintenance tasks on heavy equipment, including excavators, bulldozers, loaders, and dump trucks.
2. Diagnose mechanical issues and conduct necessary repairs to ensure minimal downtime.
3. Replace faulty parts and components with precision and efficiency.

• Inspections:
1. Conduct routine inspections of heavy machinery to identify potential problems and wear.
2. Document inspection findings and recommend corrective actions.
3. Ensure all equipment meets safety and operational standards.

• Preventive Maintenance:
1. Develop and follow preventive maintenance schedules to extend equipment lifespan.
2. Lubricate, adjust, and calibrate machinery to maintain optimal performance.
3. Maintain accurate maintenance records and logs.

• Safety and Compliance:
1. Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations while performing maintenance tasks.
2. Participate in safety training and drills.
3. Report any safety hazards or incidents to the Maintenance Supervisor.

• Technical Support:
1. Assist equipment operators with troubleshooting and operational issues.
2. Provide on-the-job training to junior technicians and apprentices.
3. Stay updated with the latest mechanical techniques and industry standards.

• Tools and Equipment Management:
1. Maintain an inventory of tools and equipment required for maintenance tasks.
2. Ensure tools are in good working condition and properly stored.
3. Report any tool or equipment malfunctions to the Maintenance Supervisor.

Qualifications:

• Diploma or certificate in Mechanical Engineering Technology.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in the maintenance and repair of heavy equipment in mining or earth-moving operations.
• Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment.
• Strong knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems.
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certification in heavy equipment maintenance.
• Experience with computer-aided maintenance management systems (CMMS).
• Knowledge of welding and fabrication techniques.

Working Conditions:

• Must be willing to work in remote and rugged environments.
• Ability to work extended hours and on-call as needed.
• Physical capability to lift heavy parts and perform hands-on maintenance tasks.
