Gulf Power Marine is looking for Marine Navigation

Job Overview:

The Marine Navigator is responsible for safely navigating vessels, such as ships or boats, through various waterways. This includes planning routes, monitoring the vessel’s position, ensuring compliance with maritime regulations, and responding to environmental and operational challenges.

Key Responsibilities: Route Planning: Develop and chart navigation routes, considering factors such as weather conditions, currents, tides, and potential hazards.

Monitoring and Adjusting Course: Continuously monitor the vessel’s position using electronic and traditional navigational tools (GPS, radar, compasses, charts) and make necessary course adjustments.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that the vessel’s navigation adheres to international and local maritime laws and safety regulations.
Communication: Maintain clear communication with the ship’s captain, crew, and, if applicable, shore-based operations, regarding the vessel’s position, course, and any potential risks.
Equipment Management: Operate and maintain all navigational instruments and software, ensuring they are in proper working condition.
Environmental and Safety Considerations: Assess and mitigate environmental risks (e.g., storms, icebergs, shallow waters) and ensure the safety of the vessel and its crew.
Emergency Response: Be prepared to take immediate action in emergency situations, such as collisions, grounding, or equipment failures.
Documentation: Maintain accurate logs of the vessel’s course, position, and any significant events or changes during the voyage.
Requirements: -

Prefer to have B.S in LSA maintenance.
