Description

Key Responsibilities:
Sourcing and Procurement:
o Identify and evaluate reliable suppliers of heavy vehicle parts and components.
o Source and purchase parts, including engines, transmissions, brake systems, and other specialized components, ensuring compliance with technical specifications and budget constraints.
o Negotiate prices, delivery terms, and contractual agreements with suppliers to secure the best possible terms.
Inventory Management:
o Monitor and manage inventory levels of heavy vehicle parts to prevent stockouts or overstock situations.
o Implement robust inventory control measures to optimize stock levels and reduce waste.
o Coordinate with maintenance and repair teams to forecast parts demand and plan purchases accordingly.
Supplier Relations:
o Develop and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key suppliers and manufacturers.
o Address and resolve issues related to supplier performance, such as delivery delays or quality concerns.
o Continuously assess and improve supplier performance through regular evaluations and feedback.
Quality Assurance:
o Ensure that all purchased parts meet the required quality standards and specifications.
o Work closely with the technical team to verify the compatibility and reliability of components.
o Manage the return and replacement process for any defective or substandard parts.

Documentation and Compliance:
o Maintain accurate and detailed records of all purchasing activities, including purchase orders, contracts, and inventory levels.
o Ensure compliance with industry regulations, safety standards, and company policies in all procurement activities.
o Generate and analyze reports on purchasing trends, supplier performance, and inventory status.
Cost Management:
o Work to achieve cost savings through effective negotiation and strategic purchasing decisions.
o Analyze market trends and pricing fluctuations to make informed procurement decisions.
o Collaborate with the finance department to manage budgets and track expenditures.


Qualifications and Skills:
• Proven experience of 3 to 5 years as a Purchaser or Buyer in the heavy vehicle or automotive industry.
• In-depth knowledge of heavy vehicle parts and components, including their functions and
applications.
• Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in inventory management software and MS Office Suite.
• Ability to analyze data, manage budgets, and make cost-effective decisions.
