Job Overview:
Ambulance drivers are responsible for safely transporting patients to medical facilities, providing emergency medical care en route, and ensuring the ambulance is stocked and maintained for immediate use.

Key Responsibilities:
- Safely drive the ambulance to the scene of an emergency and transport patients to medical facilities while ensuring the vehicle is operated in accordance with traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Emergency Medical Care: Administer basic life support (BLS) procedures such as CPR, bleeding control, splinting, Paramedics may also administer advanced life support (ALS) interventions such as administering medications and advanced airway management.
- Maintain communication with dispatchers, medical personnel, and other emergency responders to provide updates on patient status and receive instructions.
- Accurately document patient information, medical care provided, and incident details in accordance with established protocols and legal requirements.
- Conduct routine inspections and maintenance checks on the ambulance to ensure it is fully operational and stocked with medical supplies and equipment.
- Advocate for patients' needs and comfort during transport, ensuring their safety and well-being throughout the journey.
- Work closely with other healthcare professionals, including paramedics, nurses, and physicians, to coordinate patient care and ensure seamless transitions at medical facilities.
- Respond promptly to emergency calls, assess the situation, and provide immediate medical assistance as required before and during transport.

Qualifications:
Education: Completion of an accredited EMT or paramedic training program.
Certification: Valid certification as an EMT-Basic, EMT-Intermediate, or Paramedic depending on the level of care provided.
Licensure: State-specific licensure or certification as required.
Driver’s License: Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Physical Fitness: Ability to lift and move patients safely, often in stressful and physically demanding situations.
Interpersonal Skills: Effective communication skills, ability to remain calm under pressure, and empathy towards patients and their families.

Working Conditions:
Ambulance drivers work in shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, to provide 24/7 emergency medical services.
