currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated Full Stack Server Administrator to join our IT
team.
Job Summary:
The Full Stack Server Administrator will be responsible for managing and
maintaining our Windows and Ubuntu server environments, configuring and monitoring
firewalls, deploying and managing applications, administering MySQL databases, overseeing
cloud computing resources, and ensuring robust backup and restore procedures. The ideal
candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and the
ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Windows Server Management:
o Install, configure, and maintain Windows Server operating systems.
o Manage Active Directory, user accounts, group policies, and permissions.
o Monitor server performance and troubleshoot issues.
o Ensure regular updates and patches are applied to the server.
2. Ubuntu Server Management:
o Install, configure, and maintain Ubuntu Server operating systems.
o Manage software packages using APT and other package managers.
o Configure and secure network settings, including firewall setup.
o Automate routine tasks using shell scripts and cron jobs.
3. Firewall Management:
o Configure and manage hardware and software firewalls to protect the network.
o Set up and manage firewall rules to control traffic flow.
o Monitor firewall logs and respond to security incidents.
o Ensure VPN and remote access are securely configured.
4. Application Management:
o Install and configure server-based applications and services.
o Manage application updates and ensure compatibility with the server
environment.
o Monitor application performance and troubleshoot issues.
o Collaborate with development teams to deploy and manage applications.
5. MySQL Database Administration:
o Install, configure, and maintain MySQL databases.
o Perform database backups, restores, and disaster recovery.
o Optimize database performance and manage indexes.
o Write and manage SQL queries, ensuring data integrity and security.
6. Cloud Computing:
o Manage and maintain cloud infrastructure (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
o Deploy and manage cloud-based applications and services.
o Monitor cloud resource usage and optimize costs.
o Ensure the security and compliance of cloud environments.
7. Backup & Restore:
o Develop and implement backup and restore strategies for servers and databases.
o Perform regular backups and ensure their integrity.
o Test and verify backup and restore procedures.
o Respond to data loss incidents and perform data recovery as needed.
Qualifications:
Strong understanding of Windows and Ubuntu server environments.
Proficiency in firewall configuration and network security practices.
Knowledge of MySQL database management and SQL querying.
Experience with cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
Familiarity with server hardware and virtualization technologies.
Ability to troubleshoot and resolve server, network, and database issues.
Strong analytical skills to identify and mitigate potential security risks.
Excellent communication skills for clear and effective interaction with team members
and stakeholders.
Ability to document procedures, configurations, and troubleshooting steps.
Time management skills to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a dynamic
environment.
Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Windows Server, CompTIA Security+,
MySQL Database Administrator, AWS Certified Solutions Architect) are a plus.
Experience:
years of experience in server administration, including Windows and Ubuntu.
Proven experience with firewall configuration and management.
Hands-on experience with MySQL database administration and SQL querying.
Experience with cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
Experience with backup and restore procedures.
Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V) is preferred.
