A Business Development Accountant is responsible for identifying, evaluating, and pursuing new business opportunities for an accounting firm. They play a crucial role in driving revenue growth and expanding the firm's client base. Business Development Accountants typically work closely with sales and marketing teams to develop and implement strategies for attracting new clients. They may also be involved in developing new service offerings and pricing models.

Responsibilities

Identify and evaluate new business opportunities: Research and analyze potential clients to identify companies that would benefit from the firm's accounting services.
Develop and implement business development strategies: Create and execute plans to reach target clients and generate leads.
Network and build relationships: Attend industry events, conferences, and trade shows to connect with potential clients and referral partners.
Prepare and deliver presentations: Present the firm's services to potential clients in a clear and persuasive manner.
Negotiate contracts and fees: Work with clients to finalize contracts and fee arrangements.
Manage client relationships: Maintain and nurture relationships with existing clients to encourage repeat business and referrals.
Stay up-to-date on industry trends: Keep abreast of developments in the accounting industry and identify new service opportunities.
Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field.
3+ years of experience in accounting, with at least 1 year of experience in business development.
Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Proven ability to build relationships and generate leads.
Experience with CRM software a plus.
