Reports to: Head Baker / Pastry Chef

Job Summary:
We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Commis to join our bakery production team. The ideal candidate will assist in the preparation and production of bakery items, ensuring high-quality standards and efficient workflow.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist in Preparation:

Prepare ingredients and equipment for baking, following recipes and instructions from the Head Baker/Pastry Chef.
Measure and mix ingredients accurately to ensure consistency and quality.
Production Support:

Assist in the production of a variety of bakery items including pastries, cakes, and other baked goods.
Operate and maintain bakery equipment safely and efficiently.
Quality Control:

Ensure all products meet the bakery's quality standards.
Monitor the baking process to prevent over or under-baking.
Sanitation and Cleanliness:

Maintain a clean and organized workspace, following all health and safety regulations.
Clean and sanitize equipment, utensils, and work areas as required.
Inventory Management:

Assist in monitoring inventory levels and notifying the Head Baker/Pastry Chef when supplies are low.
Help in the receiving and storage of deliveries.
Team Collaboration:

Work closely with other bakery staff to ensure smooth operations.
Participate in training sessions and staff meetings as required.
Qualifications:

Previous experience in a bakery or culinary environment is preferred but not required.
Basic knowledge of baking techniques and equipment.
Ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately.
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage time effectively.
Flexibility to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Physical Requirements:

Ability to stand for extended periods.
Ability to lift and carry heavy items (up to 30KG).
Manual dexterity for handling bakery equipment and ingredients.
