Position Overview

Reporting to the Technical Supervisor, the incumbent will be responsible for Applies coats of paint, varnish, stains, enamels, or lacquer to decorate and protect interior surfaces and fixtures of the hospital.

Key Accountabilities

• Run the daily maintenance operations of the property and buildings under supervision of the Technical Supervisor and Facility Manager.
• Inspect property and buildings for life/safety issues and take immediate corrective action.
• Identify building maintenance needs, prioritize work and take corrective actions.
• Perform a full range of skilled building maintenance for extended periods of time.
• Report incidents and potential risks that may be identified and take appropriate action to rectify these.
• Seek permission to access restricted areas of the Hospital.
• Ensure safe work procedures are followed.
• Read and interpret sketches, drawings, diagrams and blueprints.
• Be a self-starter and work independently in the absence of supervision.
• Operate with a high level of personal organization
• Maintain a clean work area
• Smooths surfaces using sandpaper, rollers, wire brushes, or steel wool.
• Removes old paint from surfaces, using paints remover, scrapers, wire brushes or blowtorch.
• Prepares surfaces for painting.
• Fills nail holes, cracks, and joints with putty, plaster, or other filler.
• Spreads cloth or canvas over floor and furniture to protect them from spattered paint.
• Responsible for safety issues related to the job.
• Responsible for the confidentiality of information that they access to or came across during their work at Hospital.
• Responsible for complying with hospital code of conduct o and the patient and family rights standards.
• Performs all other duties as assigned by direct manager.

Education & Qualification, Experience, Training & Knowledge

• High school or Elementary schooling
• Minimum 2 to 3 years’ experience in the relevant field.
• Knowledge of English and Arabic is desirable but not essential.
• Working in the maintenance section of a hospital.
• Making a good relations and communications with the others.
• Ability to perform a variety of changing duties as required.
• Must possess good physical and mental health.
