Job Description: OSP Fiber Site Surveyor
Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced OSP (Outside Plant) Fiber Site Surveyor to join our team. As an OSP Fiber Site Surveyor, you will be responsible for conducting thorough site surveys to assess the feasibility and requirements for the installation of fiber optic networks. Your expertise in conducting accurate site surveys and documenting relevant data will contribute to the successful planning and execution of fiber optic projects.
Responsibilities:
1. Conduct site surveys: Perform detailed on-site surveys to assess the viability and suitability of locations for the installation of fiber optic infrastructure.
2. Evaluate infrastructure requirements: Evaluate the existing infrastructure, including poles, conduits, and other structures, to determine their capacity and suitability for fiber optic installation.
3. Measure distances and routes: Accurately measure distances and determine the optimal routes for laying fiber optic cables, taking into consideration factors such as terrain, obstacles, and existing infrastructure.
4. Identify potential challenges: Identify potential challenges and obstacles that may impact the installation process, such as rights-of-way, environmental restrictions, or permitting requirements.
5. Document survey data: Record and document all relevant data gathered during site surveys, including measurements, photographs, and any other pertinent information.
6. Collaborate with stakeholders: Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure that site survey findings are effectively communicated and incorporated into project plans.
7. Provide recommendations: Offer recommendations and insights based on site survey findings to guide decision-making related to fiber optic network design and installation.
8. Stay updated on industry standards: Stay abreast of industry best practices, standards, and regulations related to OSP fiber optic network design and installation.

Qualifications:
1. Education: A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Additional certifications or vocational training in telecommunications, network infrastructure, or a related field is preferred.
2. Experience: A minimum of 3 years of experience as an OSP Fiber Site Surveyor or in a similar role, preferably in the telecommunications industry.
3. Technical skills: Proficiency in using surveying equipment, such as distance measuring tools, GPS devices, and related software. Familiarity with fiber optic network components and installation techniques is highly desirable.
4. Attention to detail: Strong attention to detail and the ability to accurately collect and document data during site surveys.
5. Analytical skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify potential challenges and provide recommendations for overcoming them.
6. Communication skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate survey findings and recommendations to project stakeholders.
7. Time management: The ability to manage multiple site surveys simultaneously and meet project deadlines.
8. Flexibility: Willingness to work in the field and travel to various locations as required.
