Job Description: Physiotherapy Assistant

Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Physiotherapy Assistant. As a Physiotherapy Assistant, you will work alongside licensed physiotherapists to provide support and assistance in delivering effective rehabilitation programs to patients. Your primary responsibilities will include implementing treatment plans, assisting with therapeutic exercises, monitoring patient progress, and ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for patients during therapy sessions.

Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with physiotherapists to develop and implement treatment plans for patients based on their individual needs and goals.
- Assist patients in performing therapeutic exercises and activities under the guidance of a physiotherapist.
- Monitor patients during therapy sessions, documenting their progress and reporting any changes or concerns to the physiotherapist.
- Provide guidance and instruction to patients on proper exercise techniques and equipment usage.
- Assist with the application of various modalities such as heat, cold, electrical stimulation, and ultrasound therapy.
- Ensure the cleanliness and organization of treatment areas, including the maintenance and cleaning of equipment.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including treatment plans, progress notes, and other relevant documentation.
- Communicate effectively with patients, their families, and other healthcare professionals to provide information, answer questions, and address concerns.
- Adhere to all relevant policies, procedures, and regulations to ensure patient safety and confidentiality.
- Participate in ongoing professional development and training opportunities to enhance skills and stay current with best practices in physiotherapy.

Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; certification as a Physiotherapy Assistant is preferred.
- Previous experience as a Physiotherapy Assistant or in a related healthcare role is desirable.
- Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and common musculoskeletal conditions.
- Familiarity with therapeutic exercises and modalities commonly used in physiotherapy.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to establish rapport with patients and work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail to maintain accurate patient records and manage treatment schedules.
- Physical stamina and the ability to lift and move patients and equipment as necessary.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards in all aspects of the job.
- Basic computer skills and proficiency in using electronic medical record systems.
